A longer description - first came to Kelly Ingram Park in Birmingham during a roadtrip in 2018. Had just visited the Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, thinking about concepts I'll admit I hadn't given much thought since high school history class. Seeing this moving statue as a tribute to the Birmingham church bombing (across the street) was pretty powerful. So powerful, this was one of the my stops on my 2019 roadtrip. This picture is 2019, much better photo (with better editing) than 2018. The photo gives us hope for the future, despite the past.
